HP planning to reduce PDS rice, increase wheat flour
Shimla, Aug 22 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Food and Civil Supply Corporation was considering a decrease in the rice quota by 5 kg and increase the wheat flour quota by 5 kg Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal who presided over a meeting of the Department today said if the Centre would cut down the allocation of Rice, state would be forced to reduce the Rice quota from 15 kg to 10 kg.
He said that state would increase the wheat flour quota from 20 kg to 25 kg per month.
He said that 14.44 lakh ration card holders of the state are getting subsidy of Rs 90 crore annually and 4,342 fair price shops are operating in the state in PDS.
He said government would take strict action against ineligible beneficiaries who are misusing Ration cards.
