Eight Khet Mazdoor Union workers injured in police lathicharge

Bhatinda, Aug 21 (UNI) Eight people were injured when police resorted to lathicharge to disperse an unruly workers of Khet Mazdoor Union at Lambi in Muktsar district of Punjab today.

The workers, who were demanding increase in daily wages and other facilities, were proceeding in a procession to hold dharna at Badal village in support of their demands when they were stopped by police.

However, they turned unruly and pelted stones at police personnel who lathicharged them. All the injured were admitted to the Civil hospital here.
