JK students' death: Students boycott classes
Srinagar, Aug 20: Students of different schools today boycotted their classes and took to streets protesting against the killing of two students in recent police action on processionists agitating against the alleged economic blockade and attack on drivers in Jammu.
A large number of students from different institutions, mostly lower classes reached Rainawari in processions to express solidarity with the parents and other family members of a student, who was killed in police firing last week.
Raising pro-freedom slogans, the students, however, remained peaceful.
Similar processions were also witnessed in other parts, including Moulana Azad road, Budshah Chowk, Maisuma and Gaw Kadal.
Last night thousands of people in different localities, including down town and uptown took to streets in their respective areas raising pro-freedom slogans.
The processionists holding ''mashals'' in their hands demanded reopening of the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road.
