Mah police not responsible for Haywood's fleeing: Patil

Mumbai, Aug 20 (UNI) Maharashtra deputy chief minister R R Patil today said the state police was not responsible for Kenneth Haywood fleeing the country.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Patil said ''There is no strong evidence against Haywood and he can move anywhere in India. The police has already briefed IB on the same.'' Haywood has been under the scanner of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) after an e-mail was sent from Navi Mumbai near here using his IP address, just five minutes before the Ahmedabad serial blasts.

His laptop has been sent to forensic lab and further investigations are on.

Haywood left the country two days ago from New Delhi.
