Kannadiga condole Sundar's death
New Delhi, Aug 20 (UNI) Kannada speaking people in Delhi today held a condolence meeting mourning the death of noted Indologist and Registrar of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan G R Sundar in a road accident on August 18 while returning home after a morning walk.
The meeting organised by Dehali Kannadiga, a local monthly, recounted how dangerous roads in Delhi had turned for the pedestrians and recalled Sundar's contributions for education and academic activities in the Capital. He was also President of Delhi Kannada School between 2001-03 and was actively involved in activities of Dehali Kannada Sangha.
A product of Mysore University, Sundar was also Programme Officer at Gandhi Smriti. He also was the recipient of 'Best Dehali Kannadiga' award instituted by Dehali Kanndiga in 2003.
The meeting also urged the police authorities to step up vigillance on Delhi roads especially in the morning hours to prevent loss of innocent lives by rash and negligent driving.
