Jeweller shots himself along with 5 in family; 3 dead

Lucknow, Aug 20 (UNI) A jeweller shot himself dead after killing five members of his family in Chowk area of the state capital this evening.

Chandraprakash fired upon his mother Kasturi (68), aunty Angoori (55), daughters Jyoti (16) and Neha (14) and wife Kalpna (40) from his licensed pistol, police said.

Later, he killed himself too.

His mother and daughters succumbed on the spot, while other two were admitted to Trauma Centre here in critical condition.

Reason behind the crime was reportedly a land dispute.

Meanwhile, senior police officials have reached the spot and investigation was underway.
