ICAI to offer Valuation course from Oct 1
New Delhi, Aug 20 (UNI) The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India will offer a new certificate course on Valuation following its approval at the 280th meeting of the council of the institute held here recently.
The course, which will be quite comprehensive, will be launched on October 1 next in New Delhi and Mumbai initially and subsequently in the other cities.
The decision is expected enhance the competitive edge of its members in the global service market as well as cater to the needs of the profession and emerging diversities and complexities in valuation job.
In the normal course, the auditor is required to assess "valuation" as an assertion while auditing the financial statements. In fact, it is difficult to imagine a balance sheet without valuation from a chartered accountant who alone has the overall perspective of valuation in its totality.
The curriculum will provide an overview of Valuation, impart Valuation techniques, knowledge of Corporate Laws and Income Tax Implications and application of Valuation Techniques and Project Presentation.
Apart from the theoretical as well as all the valuation modalities, the course will hone the expertise of the ICAI members through multiple case studies across the industry and service sectors.
