Floral tributes paid to Rajiv Gandhi in Pondy

Puducherry, Aug 20 (UNI) Floral tributes were paid to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 64th birth anniversary here today.

Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy, his cabinet collegues, Legislators, Speaker R Radhakrishnan and senior officals of the territorial administration garlanded the statue of Rajiv Gandhi at Ellapillaichavady here to mark the occasion.

PCC President A V Subramanian and party functionaries also garlanded the statue on behalf of the party.

Earlier, rich tributes were paid to a decorated portrait of Rajiv Gandhi at the PCC office here in which Mr Rangasamy, his cabinet collegues, party president A V Subramanian and other congress office bearers participated.

The Puducherry Munnetra Congress (PMC) also paid rich tributes to a decorated portrait of the late Prime Minister at the party office here.
