Delhi Govt announces Rs 50 lakh reward for Sushil Kumar
New Delhi, Aug 20 (UNI) The Delhi Government today announced cash reward of Rs 50 lakh for the local grappler Sushil Kumar, who won bronze medal in men's 66-kg freestyle category at the Olympics Games in Beijing.
With this win, Sushil has become the second Indian wrestler to win an Olympic medal after K D Jadhav, who won one in the 1952 Helsinki Games. This is the second medal for India at the Olympics this year after shooter Abhinav Bindra claimed the first ever individual Olympic gold for India.
Education Minister Arvinder Singh said apart from the cash reward, Sushil and his coach Satpal will be considered for out of turn promotions in their respective departments.
