Cong seeks action against Minister for possessing guns
Bhubaneswar, Aug 20 (UNI) Congress Deputy leader Narshingh Mishra today alleged that Urban Development Minister K V Singdeo was in possession of guns without any license and demanded action against him as per the law.
Raising the issue through a special mention in the Orissa Assembly during Zero hours, Mr Mishra, quoting a newspaper report, said Mr Singdeo's mother Rajmata Premalata Kumari Devi had sent a report to Bolangir Collector stating she apprehended misuse of her guns now in the possession of her son.
The two guns, Premalata Devi said, belonged to her husband Raj Raj Singhdeo and she had the licenses but her son had taken away the guns from her.
The Congress Deputy leader said possessing gun without any license construed as an offence and wanted to know what action the government has taken against the Minister on the basis of the report submitted to the Bolangir Collector.
He also wanted to know from the government as to whether any effort has been made to recover the guns from the Urban Development Minister on the basis of complaint lodged by his mother.
