Bigg Boss 2': Will Sherlyn Chopra step in shoes of Jade Goody?
New Delhi, Aug 20 (UNI) With Briton Jade Goody on her way back to the United Kingdom after being diagnosed with cancer, speculation is rife about 'glamour girl' Sherlyn Chopra being considered as a replacement in the 'Bigg Boss' house to retain curiosity in the reality show.
Roping in the Sherlyn in 'Bigg Boss' could, however, be a tough task for Endemol, the makers of 'Bigg Boss 2', and the 'Colors' general entertainment channel, considering that she was only recently "shown the door" by the makers of the show, who could not meet her two demands.
Infact, in the run up to the start of 'Bigg Boss 2', Sherlyn was in discussions with the channel and the show's producers for appearing in the show as one of its 14 participants, a decision perhaps prompted by the fact that the presence of the "hit actress" could give a tremendous boost to the TRPs of the show.
After being in discussion for appearing on the 'Bigg Boss', the firebrand actress was shown the door as her two conditions could not be met on time. She had asked for a sum of Rs 3 crore for her 3-month appearance in the 'Bigg Boss' House - since, after her first music album 'Outrageous', her second album 'Dard-e-Sherlyn' has also become a runaway success, she felt that only a decent price could keep her inside the House for three months.
It is also learnt that Sherlyn had suggested that the makers install cameras even in bathrooms of the House, so that she could flaunt her vast collection of colourful bikinis and inner wear while bathing - it seems she was keen to generate loads of teenage interest in the show from both sexes.
However, both her demands were rejected by the makers of 'Bigg Boss 2', who promptly showed her the door.
It can be recalled that the practice of cameras in the bathrooms of such a reality show existed in UK's 'Big Brother' earlier, until Shilpa Shetty got the practice discontinued two years ago, with a clause in her contract stating it went against her ethics and culture. But since 'Bigg Boss' found Sherlyn's demands outrageous, she was out.
No wonder then, after her previous experience, Sherlyn is adopting a tough stance as far as her re-entry on the show is concerned.
''For Sherlyn to say 'yes' to 'Bigg Boss', she needs a great incentive,''said her publicist Dale Bhagwagar.
''Only if she gets what she deserves to be away for a full three months from the promotions of her latest musical success 'Dard-e-Sherlyn', will she agree to be on the show,''he added.
''With her characteristic boldness and flamboyance, she is able and capable to make TRPs of any TV programme hit the roof, and we all know that. But I'm sure; she won't be interested in it without the perks,''Bhagwagar said.
The show, which began airing on 'Colors' from Sunday, had as its participants a mixed cocktail of celebrities including 'Item girls' Sambhavana Seth and Payal Rohtagi, TV actors Ketki Dave and Rakhi Vijayan, Singer Debojit, former film actress Monica Bedi, stand up comedian Ehsaan Qureshi, model-turned actor Zulfi Syed, politicians Sanjay Nirupum, Pramod Mahajan's son Rahul Mahajan, Raja Chaudhry, husband of TV actor Shweta Tiwari, MTV roadies winner Ashutosh and Briton Jade Goody.
However, Jade Goody made an exit from the reality show yesterday after she was informed by her doctor from London that she is suffering from Cancer.
The news was broken to the 27-year-old by her consultant in the UK by telephone. Goody was withdrawn from the show immediately and left for UK yesterday.
