AAI strike: normal operations contineu barring Mumbai-Kolkata route
Mumbai, Aug 20 (UNI) The air traffic and airport operations in the city today remained largely unaffected, barring the Mumbai-Kolkata route that was badly affected, after the one-day strike of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) protesting privatisation of airports in the country.
The strike call was given by the Airports Authority Employees' Union (AAEU) as part of the day-long nationwide strike called by the left-backed unions.
Due to the strike, the Mumbai-Kolkata sector was badly affected.
There was no flight on the route, while other flights were partially affected and returned back to normalcy as the airport authorities made alternate arrangements.
The AAEU is also demanding rationalisation of pay scales and filling of vacant posts.
