Heavy rains wreak havoc in Northern India

Shimla/Jalandhar, August 19, 2008 : Flood situation continued to remain serious in Punjab. On Monday Chief Minister of Punjab, Prakash Singh Badal, visited the flood affected areas in Jalandhar city.

Badal announced that once the situation is brought under control, adequate compensation would be provided to all those who have suffered huge losses due to the floods. In Shimla, incessant rains for the past one week have completely disrupted normal life.
