State Government on right track: Patil
Nashik, Aug 19 (UNI) Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today said that the Maharashtra government is on the right track considering the state's progress in education.
" If you will ask me whether the state government is on the right track, I will say yes as it is moving forward in the right direction, if you think about norms of progress, I do not give much importance to how many dams and roads have been built but to the fact that last year the number of Engineers, Doctors IT Technicians, English speaking people was the highest in Maharashtra. This is a sign of progress in the state'', Patil said on the occasion of Samajdin and students felicitation ceremony of the Nashik District Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj (NDMVPS), here doday.
He said that for the development of the nation parents should change their indifferent attitude towards education.
The percentage of school drop outs is alarming. The disparity between education of the rich and the poor is also alarming. the condition of Municipal Zilla Parishad Schools is bad. Alogwith the government, educational institute managments also need to instrospect about this, as knowldge is the capital in this century, he added.
He said people criticised NCP presedent Sharad Pawar when he said farmers should not depend on farming only and find other options, but everyone knows farming is an unpredictable business.
