Privilege Committee meeting postponed

Puducherry, Aug 19 (UNI) The meeting of the Privilege Committee of the territorial assembly schedueld to be held today was postponed till August 28.

Deputy Speaker and committee chairman A V Sreedharan told UNI that the meeting was postponed to suit his convenience.

Director General of Police Mr Khan, Secretary to the government A K Singh and Director, Information and Publicity Department were informed and summoned to appear before the committee on August 28.

Chief Secretary Rakesh Bihari, at a review meeting had made certain 'objectionable ''remarks against the Council of Ministers, and three legislators lodged a complaint with Speaker R Radhakrishnan, who referred the matter to the Privilege Committee.

The three officials could not appear before the committee in its third sitting earlier.

Mr Bihari was subsequently transferred to Delhi.
