Mariah Carey's new hubby reminds her of her mum!

Washington, Aug 19: Mariah Carey has said that her hubby Nick Cannon is her soul mate - because he reminds her of her mother.

The singer stated that he has an upbeat attitude, which resembles to that of her mother.

"When I was a kid there was an ice storm in the suburbs... We went to Manhattan to stay with a friend of my mom's. There was nobody on the road. It was this moment that could've been scary for a kid, but she made it festive," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

She added: "That's what Nick is like. He takes the hard part of a situation and makes it celebratory."

After a whirlwind romance, Carey married Cannon on May 2008.
