Man attacks wife, father-in-law and then commits suicide

Bathinda, Aug 19 (UNI) A local resident after attacking and seriously injuring his wife and father-in-law with a sharp edged weapon, ended his life by jumping before a train in the town here today.

Police sources said that Bhag Mal, a resident of Pakhowal Canteen area allegedly attacked his wife, Paramjit Kaur and her father, Gurdial Singh with a dagger, seriosuly injuring both of them. The two were attacked while they were on their way to Canal Police Chokwi to record their statement in a fraud case registered against Bhag Mal.

While the injured, father and daughter were rushed to the civil hospital here, their attacker jumped before a train near the thermal plant here to end his life. The father and daughter were later refered to the PGI, Chandigarh as their condition was stated to be serious.

The police has registered an attempt to murder case and a suicide case.
