Haywood can be forced to be available for investigation: Patil
Nashik, Aug 19 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil today said US national Kenneth Haywood, who fled from India yesterday, can be forced to be available for investigation regarding the Ahmedabad blasts.
''However, I do not have much information regarding this. I will secure information from the ATS and will speak in detail later,'' Mr Patil said in an interaction with journalists here.
He said there was no other method by which constant watch can be kept on a person, other then arresting the person.
Haywood has been under the scanner of Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) after an e-mail was sent from Navi Mumbai using his IP address, just five minutes before the Ahmedabad serial blasts. His laptop has been sent to forensic lab and further investigations are on.
Regarding the arrest of two SIMI activists in Pune, Mr Patil said he did not have much information and hence cannot comment on it.
Speaking about the security arrangements during the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, he said though the state has asked for extra forces from the centre for the festival, the Ganesh mandal activists should also help and the citizens should remain alert.
