GJM team reaches New Delhi to meet PM

Siliguri, Aug 19 (UNI) A nine-member delegation led by Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) general secretary Roshan Giri today reached New Delhi for holding a preliminary discussion with the leaders at the Centre on the tripartite meeting on Darjeeling unrest.

The team comprises GJM vice-president Pradip Pradhan and the GJM central committee members -- Amar Lama, Anmol Prasad, Dr R B Bhujel, Palden Lama, P Arjun, R Sharma and T K Pandit.

Mr Pradhan said the delegation would meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi within a day or two.

'' We will have a preliminary discussion on the tripartite meeting which the Centre has agreed to convene and ensure that the issue of Gorkhaland should be addressed during the meeting, '' Mr Pradhan told UNI over phone.

Meanwhile, GJM president Bimal Gurung at Darjeeling said the GJM would prefer to walk out of the tripartite meeting if the issues for Gorkhaland were not discussed.
