Doshion awarded Rs 200-cr Waste Water Management Project

Ahmedabad, Aug 19 (UNI) The presitigious Waste Water Management project of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), New Delhi, has been awarded to Ahmedabad based, Doshion Veolia Water Solutions (DVWS).

The company has been awarded this prestigious order of Rs 200 crore plus to execute the complete water and waste water management facilities at GMR-IGIA encompassing civil work, plumbing, piping, transportation of waste and complete operation and maintenance, a company release said here today.

The DVWS is a joint venture company between an Ahmedabad major Doshion Limited and a global leader, Veolia Water Solutions and Technology, France, and is heralding a new revolution in the water treatment industry.

Disclosing about the project, DVWS Managing Director Mr Ashit Doshi said, ''Once completed, the plant shall be a good exhibit of technology at its best use. With 150 plus technologies and more than 1,600 patents to its credit, the company has developed the best scheme for GMR-IGIA with a lot of emphasis on water recycle, reuse and waste minimization.'' Mr. Doshi said ''DVWS will install water treatment plants that reduce the salinity of water and the sewage treatment and recycling plant that uses the recycled water for Horticulture and washing purpose, thereby maximizing the use of available water resources and minimizing waste generation from this infrastructure project.'' Initially operating and maintaining the entire plant for six years, DVWS will also train GMR personnel for future operation and maintenance. In fact, the company is going to install a unique feature of plant automation and control SCADA to ensure that the entire plant operates with minimum supervision.

GMR-IGIA is a fast track, state of the art international Airport project and of immense importance to the capital city, especially in view of the commonwealth games scheduled in 2010.

Complying with the international standards, this water management project is the first of its kind to be completed in record time of 14 months.

Unlike 'Me-too' strategy, where common technologies are offered, DVWS is known for creating differentials and offering unique, innovative technologies.
