Court notice to MCM DAV College Principal, students on protest

Dharamshala, Aug 19 (UNI) A local court today issued notice to the Principal MCM DAV college Kangra R K Ohri to present himself in the court tomorrow, along with the documents, on a petition moved by four students against rejection of their nomination papers during the SCA polls yesterday.

Nitin Kumar and Anoop Singh Rana, both from Students Federation of India (SFI), and Swan Chauhan and Rajesh Kumar, belonging to Azad Chhatra Sangh (ACS), moved the court against Mr Ohri for rejecting their nomination papers in the SCA polls, claiming that under the pressure that college was dependent on the Government for 95 per cent grant in aid, their nominations were rejected on unreasonable and illegal grounds.

Mr R K Ohri confirmed that he had received the court notice today.

Meanwhile, students belonging to SFI and ACS today held demonstration on the college campus, raised slogans against the college Principal and boycotted their classes.

They were warned by the college authorities against holding demonstration on the college campus.
