Court asks Navy to pay Rs 20 lakh compensation to cadet

Kannur, Aug 19 (UNI) The Thalassery Additional Sub Court Judge has directed the Navy to pay a compensation of Rs 20 lakh to a Naval cadet who was dismissed from the force after he sustained injuries in a fall.

The court yesterday also ordered six per cent interest from 2004 onwards and court expenditure to cadet R C Rajesh.

Rajesh's father K C Ramachandran, a retired Air Force Junior Warrant Officer, filed the petition against the dismissal of his son.

He was enrolled in Navy as cadet through Service Selection Board, Bangalore in 1997.

During physical training period, he fell down and sustained injuries. Two years later,he was dismissed from service on the ground of disability.
