Battery-operated vehicles rally to mark Akshay Urja Diwas

Panchkula, Aug 19 (UNI) A rally of battery-operated vehicles would be organised for the first time in the country on the occasion of Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas here tomorrow.

The battery-operated vehicle rally will have a unique impact in clean and green city of Panchkula and Chandigarh.

The other attraction of the national function being organised by Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA) under the sponsorship of Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy are Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja National Marathon (20 kms for men and women), Renewable Energy Rally and Renewable Energy Pledge by about 50,000 school students.

Rallies, human chains, competitions such as essay writing, painting, quizzes, debates etc. would be organised on the theme of new and renewable energy on the occasion.

Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Vilas Muttemwar and Union Minister for Urban Housing and Poverty Alleviation Kumari Salija will be attending the function.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Deputy Chief Minister Chandra Mohan and many other state ministers, senior officers would also participate in the function.
