Musharraf's resignation an internal matter of Pakistan : Pranab

Berhampore, Aug 18 (UNI) External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee today termed the resignation of Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf as the neighbouring country's ''internal affair''.

Talking to newsmen here, Mr Mukherjee said, '' It's an internal matter of Pakistan. Good relation between India and Pakistan started during Mr Musharraf's regime, and I hope it will continue in future also. '' Stating that normalcy would soon prevail in the situation, Mr Mukherjee hoped for a prompt progress in this regard and asserted that during his visit to Pakistan, he had developed a personal relationship with the leaders of that country.

''From Nawaz Sharif to Asif Ali Zardari and Yusuf Gilani, I have cordial discussions with all of them and hope a positive approach could be made in improving our relation,'' Mr Mukherjee stated.
