MNS activists stall screening of Bhojpuri film

Mumbai, Aug 18 (UNI) As part of its tirade against north Indians, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists stalled the screening of a Bhojpuri film at Natraj cinema in Chembur in north-east Mumbai.

A group of 8-10 people, led by Vijay Garje, yesterday entered the theatre, where show of the film 'Thaila Number 501' was on. The activists disrupted the screening and threatened the spectators to leave the premises.

Thereafter, they came out and tore the posters and cut-outs of the movie, displayed outside the theatre.

Police have registered a case of rioting against Garje, Chandrakant Sawant and eight others. However, no arrest has been made so far.
