Kerala BJP demands special police team to check terrorism
Kannur, Aug 18 (UNI) The BJP in Kerala today urged the state government to constitute a special police team to apprehend those who were involved in terrorist activities in the state.
Talking to reporters here, BJP state unit president P K Krishna Das said the team should include Commandos and a Special Intelligence Wing, as the existing police force was not in a position to trace SIMI activists and bring them to book.
Mr Das alleged that the state police had ''miserably failed'' in getting information about the training reportedly provided to SIMI workers by foreigners at Wagamon in the state.
The BJP had pointed out that such activities were taking place at Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad and Idukki districts, but were ''ignored'' by the Congress-led UDF and CPI(M)-led LDF governments in the state.
