John Mayer called it quits with Jennifer Aniston due to 'different chemistry'

New York, Aug 18 : John Mayer has said that he parted ways with Jennifer Aniston because of 'different chemistry' - but still thinks she's a wonderful person.

Mayer said that he broke off with the actress because he didn't see a future with her.

"I don't want to waste somebody's time if something's not right. I'm sorry that the story's not interesting. But it's about time that somebody stands up for that girl and I think she's great," the New York Daily News quoted Mayer, as telling OK! Magazine.

Mayer described Aniston "the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I've ever met."

He added that throughout their relationship, the two remained completely honest and faithful.

"There's no lying. There's no cheating. She's one of the most lovely people I've ever met in my life," he said.
