Haryana Police recovers looted property worth Rs two cr

Chandigarh, Aug 18 (UNI) The Haryana Police has arrested 4458 accused and recovered looted property worth Rs two crore from them during the second fortnight of July.

Out of the arrested accused who were involved in various cases of crime, police succeeded in getting 453 persons convicted in the different courts of the state during the fortnight, a police spokesman said today.

He said Haryana Police was fully committed to weed out anti-social elements from the society. Police registered 4231 cases against the trespassers.

Police also nabbed 12 local and two inter-state criminal gangs involved in dacoity, robbery, motor vehicle theft, burglary and other theft and arrested 26 proclaimed offenders and 268 bail jumpers during this period.

The police had been able to sort out 293 cases out of 1175 registered under crime against property like robbery, dacoity, burglary, extortion and theft and arrested 355 accused.
