Court denies pre-arrest bail to passport racket accused
Moga, Aug 18 (UNI) A local court today rejected the pre-arrest bail applications of four accused in the passport scam.
Additional sessions judge Amarjot Bhatti rejected the pleas noting that the investigation into the passport scandal were still going.
All the five accused in the passport scandal including three head constables Ranjit Singh, Gurdiala and Jaswinder Singh of Moga security branch, Bhupinder Singh Brar, a travel agent from Dharamkot and Didar Singh from Regional Passport Office, Chandigarh were absconding.
In the case registered with the Moga police on May 11, the accused were charged with getting released at least 226 forged passport in connivance with the postal and regional passport office by tampering official records and forging of certificates of birth and education.
