All party delegation to Delhi for special status to Goa:CM

Panaji, Aug 18 (UNI) Pleading for conferring special status on Goa on par with Himachal Pradesh and Chhattisgarh for offering incentives to greenfield industries, Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat told the state Legislative Assembly today he would soon lead an all party delegation to New Delhi.

Replying to the general budget debate, the Chief Minister said Goa required to be accorded special status for encouraging industries with more incentives and hence the delegation.

Goa requires special status as it had been attracting tourists, both domestic and foreign, more than its own population, he added.
