AGP meets AJYCP for unfiication
Guwahati, Aug 18 (UNI) The Asom Gana Parishad(AGP) in their bid for regional unity today met the Asom Jatiyadabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP), seeking their views about bringing together all the regional political parties into one fold to dismiss Congress.
The AGP met the AASU day before yesterday and did not have too many pleasant memories as AASU made sure that they would encourage regional unity but sans former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta.
Today's meeting took place at Hotel Nandan, and the AGP's eleven- member team was led by the working president of the party Phansi Bhusan Choudhury, while the AJYCP team was led by adviser Dilip Patgiri.
The AJYCP seemed not to be so hard on the Mahanta issue and unlike the ASU, they are expected to give better time to the AGP.
The AGP was divided over the acceptance of Mr Mahanta in the party as the AASU made it clear that they would never allow him back and instead encouraged the AGP leadership to elect new set of leadership.
