Husband-wife consume poison to end lives

Phagwara, Aug 17: A husband and wife allegedly committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substances at their residence in nearby Puadherra village on Saturday, Aug 16.

An official report today said that while the husband, Ranjit Kumar died at a private nursing home in Phillaur last night, the wife, Paramjit Kaur who was refered to Ludhiana, died in a hospital there.

The deceased couple leave behind two small kids--a son and daughter.

The cause of the suicide was not yet known. The police has registered a case and are investigating the manner.
