Forest Dept to issue notice to TTD for violation of sanctuary rules
Tirupati, Aug 17 (UNI) The Forest Department (Wildlife) is likely to issue a legal notice to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for violation of Wildlife sanctuary rules in issuing licenses to the shops at Sanctuary reserved area in Tirumala hills.
Talking to newspersons here District Forest Officer (DFO) Mr Ramalingam, the TTD had given licenses to more than 40 shops at Papanasam in Tirumala hills, which falls under sanctuary reserved area, illegally and its department had already issues notices to TTD for violation of rules by issuing shops licenses in the forest area.
The controversial shops issue between the forest Department and TTD was continuing since 2004, he said, and added that the High court had already issued notice to the TTD to vacate the shops from the forest reserve area but even after one year, the TTD had not taken any action to either cancel the shops licenses or shift them to other places, he added.
Tension prevailed at Papanasam today, nearly 300 forest officials, including task force were removing the illegal shops. The forest officials left the place after the intervention by the Tirupati MLA Venkataramana.
Mr Venkataramana gave an assurance that the shops would be shifted to other place within one month after discussing with the TTD Executive Officer K V Ramanachary.
