Fishermen discover ''floating rock''
Kendrapara, Aug 17 (UNI) The fishermen of Ambabelari village have discovered a miracle in the form of a ''floating rock'' under Baulakani Gram Panchayat of Coastal Mahakalapada block in Kendrapara district.
A rock, weighing about 15 kg, was found floating on the water, Baulakani Gram Panchayat Udaya Kumar Rout said.
Mr Rout said four fishermen of Ambabelari village had gone to the Bay of Bengal on Friday to catch fish.
While fishing near the Barunei mouth in the Bay of Bengal, one of the fishermen spotted the ''floating rock''.
Curious to see the rock, they fished it out and brought the stone to the village.
When they told the villagers about the strange rock, the villagers threw the rock in a pond to check the veracity of their statements, but to their surprise, the rock floated in the pond.
Awed by the mystery of the rock the superstitious villagers started worshiping the stone.
As the news spread, hundreds of people from nearby villagers have been thronging the site daily to have a glimpse of the mysterious rock.
