Contraband seize in north Bihar

Sitamarhi, Aug 17 (UNI) Customs officials seized three packets of contraband from a train compartment at Narkastiaganj station near Indo-Nepal border in this north Bihar district today.

Official sources said acting on a tip off a team of customs sleuths raided a compartment of a stationary passenger train and recovered three abandonded packets containing high quality charas from underneath a seat.

However, no one was arrested in connection with the seizure.

The value of the contraband in international market was estimated at more than Rs 400,000,the sources said and suspected the involvement of inter-state smugglers in the incident.
