AR seizes fake notes worth more than Rs seven lakh

Aizawl, Aug 17 (UNI) The 10 Assam Rifles seized fake currency amounting to Rs 7,37,000, following a joint operation with special branch of Aizawl police, and arrested a person in this connection.

An AR source told UNI here today that all the fake notes, seized yesterday, were of Rs 500 denomination.

One Ginsuanpau Paite (40), a temporary resident of Thuampui locality, was arrested in this connection and handed over to the Bawngkawn police station where he confessed to the crime.

Earlier in June this year, the 10 Assam Rifles recovered fake notes worth Rs 2,72,600 in Aizawl.
