Two blasts rock Bongaigaon
Guwahati, Aug 16 (UNI) Suspected ULFA militants triggered two low intensity blasts in western Assam's Bongaingaon district this morning.
The bombs went off almost simultaneously, one near a police checkpoint in the heart of Bongaigaon town and the other at Paglasthan, at around 0810 hours, police said.
There was no casualty in the explosions.
Police suspected that the bombs were meant to be exploded on Independence Day, but the rebels, somehow, could not detonate them.
Details are awaited even as search operations were intensified in the areas.
