Police officer convicted for accepting bribe
Bangalore, Aug 16 (UNI) Special court of Mysore convicted a sub-Inspector attached to Mysore Rural police station on August 13 for accepting a bribe for showing an official favour.
The inspector was caught red handed by Lokayukta sleuths while accepting Rs 2,000 from P Mahadeva as a bribe and charge sheet was filedin he Mysore court,the press release said.
A Lokayukta sources said that the inspector H Jayanna had been sentenced to a six month simple imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 5,000. The Court in its order said that the accussed would further undergo one month jail term and to pay Rs 10,000 as fine.
