Pak troops again violate ceasefire in Kashmir, attack Indian posts
Srinagar, Aug 16 (UNI) Hours after Pakistani and Indian Prime Ministers greeted each other on their respective 62nd Independence Day, Pakistani troops violated the five-year-old ceasefire yet again by attacking Indian positions in Keran sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
A police spokesman said today that during the preceeding night, Pakistani troops fired mortar shells on forward posts near the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector.
However, the shells missed the posts and exploded at a distance without causing any damage.
Earlier, this month, Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire twice in Nowgam sector, killing a soldier.
Pakistan and Indian government had announced a ceasefire on the LoC and International border in Jammu and Kashmir in 2003.
