CLP meeting postponed to Aug 25; CM to meet Sonia

Puducherry, Aug 16 (UNI) Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting scheduled to be held here on August 18 has been postponed to August 25.

According to highly placed PCC(I) sources, AICC has directed it to postpone the meeting to August 25, presumably in the wake of Chief Minister N Rangasamy meeting AICC President Ms Sonia Gandhi and seeking more time for him to set things right here.

Following the 'tussle' between Mr Rangasamy and the ministers, there was an administrative crisis and the ministers are demanding his removal.

They had also boycotted the cabinet meetings convened by Mr Rangasamy following which the AICC had direted PCC(I) President A V Subramanian to convene the CLP meeting on August 18 to discuss the prevailing situation and allow Mr Rangasamy to prove his majority among the Congress members.
