Torrential rains in Kerala, Lakshadweep

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 15 (UNI) Rain occurred at most places in Kerala and Lakshadweep today.

The total amount of rainfall recorded in cm: were CIAL Kochi 5, Vaikkom and Thodupuzha 4 each, Kozhikode, Thrissur and Kochi Airport 3 each and Karippur Airport, Alappuzha, Thiruvananthapuram Airport and Agatti 2 each, local weatherman said here.

Rain or thundershower is likely to occur at many places in the State and Union Territory.

The authorities have warned fishermen not to venture into the sea as strong onshore wind from north-westerly direction with speed occasionaly reaching 45-55 kmph is likely to hit the state coastline and Lakshadweep during the next 48 hours.
