Country-made gun pledged in finance company seized

Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, Aug 15 (UNI) Police seized an old country-made gun that was pledged in a finance company for money and secured three persons for interrogation today.

According to police sources here, a police team secured C Rajkumar (28) of Mettupatti village in the district during routine vehicle check on suspicion, at Siluvathur road, two days ago. He was brought to the Dindigul North police station for interrogation, during which Rajkumar confessed that he had pledged the country-made gun for money.He got the gun from one Kamaraj of Kannivadi Pudupatti village here, he also revealed.

Based on the interrogation, a police team nabbed Kamaraj at Coimbatore for further investigations. They seized the gun from the finance company here and took into custody the owner of the company for interrogation.

Further investigations were on with the two to find out how they got the weapon, which was believed to be manufactured in the 70s' and whether they were members of any banned organizations.
