British reality television celebrity Jade goody arrives in Mumbai

Mumbai, August 15 : British reality television celebrity Jade Goody whose treatment of Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty in the United Kingdom reality show "Celebrity Big Brother" sparked a controversy, arrived in Mumbai on Friday.

Jade Goody has arrived in Mumbai where she is expected to take part in the Indian version of "Celebrity Big Brother" called "Bigg Boss" which is to be hosted by Shilpa Shetty.

It comes one and a half years after Goody was accused of being racist towards Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty in the UK show.

In January last year, Shetty beat 13 other "Celebrity Big Brother" contestants, including television personality Jade Goody and some other housemates whose treatment of Shetty generated thousands of complaints, dominated headlines and even prompted a sponsor of the show to pull out.

The actress was called a "dog" on the show and some housemates refused to learn her name, referring to her as "the Indian" and "Poppadom". But Shetty played down allegations that she had been the victim of racial abuse.
