Youth trying to snatch bag from cashier caught by passer-by

Puducherry, Aug 14 (UNI) An alert public foiled an attempt to rob a cashier of a private industry of Rs 5.20 lakh here last evening.

According to police, Pazhanivel, the cashier was walking towards a nearby bank from his industry with the bag containing the money when five youths on motor cycles waylaid him. One of them tried to take away the bag containing the money. As he resisted, the youths attacked him and snatched the bag.

When Pazanivel raised an alarm, a passer-by caught one of the youth identified as Nelson of Kirumambakkam, along with the bag and thrashed him while the others fled.

The youth was handed over to the police.

Three special teams were formed the nab them.
