Easy passage of essential goods in Kashmir

Srinagar/ Jammu, August 14, 2008 : The cracks between Kashmir Valley and Jammu region may be wider than ever, but the police are making sure that trucks carrying essential supplies are allowed to enter the region.

Till last week, the state was facing a shortage of essential commodities because of protests over the Amarnath shrine land transfer row. The arterial highway between Jammu and Srinagar was blocked for sometime, forcing the authorities to move in to restore order.
