Aviation downturn: Pilots feel the heat
New Delhi, August 14, 2008 : The recurring nightmare that haunts pilots around the world every decade when the cyclic airline industry goes through a downturn has come back to hit the Indian shores.
Facing the heat with spiralling fuel prices, the intensively competitive Indian aviation industry now has to contend with negative growth in domestic air traffic as well. It all started two months ago with airlines in U.S. affecting a wave of pilot job cuts.
