Mumbai, Aug 14 (UNI) Prices of Tin slab and Nickel cathode in non-ferrous metals today rallied on heavy industrial demand in view of bullish advice from global markets, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.

In non-ferrous metals category, tin slab and nickel cathode shot up by Rs 17 per kg and Rs 25 per kg respectively from their last finish. There was lack of offers by stockists, induced by reduced arrivals of stocks from neighbouring centres.

Copper wire bars also recovered by Rs 500 per quintal on fresh demand by bulk consumers. But Lead ingot and zinc slab declined by Rs 100 and Rs 200 per quintal respectively on poor demand from local dealers.

In ferrous metals category (per quintal), copper heavy and copper utensils were up by Rs 800 and Rs 300 per quintal respectively on renewed buying support to finish at Rs 36,000 and Rs 33,800 per quintal respectively.

Brass utensils and brass cuttings also gained modestly by Rs 100 per quintal each in line with copper, traders added.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 36,000, copper utensils - Rs 33,800, brass utensils - Rs 25,000, brass cuttings - Rs 26,200 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,100.

Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 39,300, aluminium ingots- Rs 14,100, zinc slab - Rs 10,100, lead ingots - Rs 10,700, tin slab - Rs 1,027 per kg and nickel cathode - Rs 1,035 per kg.
