Security tightens for Independence Day

Puducherry, Aug 14: Security has been tightened for the Independence day celebrations here on Friday, Aug 15.

Police conducted a thorough check at the Indira Gandhi sports complex, where Chief Minister N Rangasamy would unfurl the tricolour. Police pickets were posted in the complex.

Every vehicle entering Puducherry was scanned at the state border.

All hotels and lodges were thoroughly checked.

Certain restrictions like not to carry food packets and bags were imposed on the spectators to watch the Independence day celebration.
