Jail doctor charged with contract killing
Indore, Aug 14: An incident of a doctor posted in a jail hiring a jail inmate for contract killing of his tenant following a dispute over vacating the house has come to light here.
The incident came to the fore when local Ranipura-resident and cutlery-trader Irshad (27) was stabbed to death by some motorcycle riders when he was closing his shop ten days back.
Police took victim's landlord Dr Shakeel Ahmad and his brother Khalil Ahmad in custody where during interrogation they confessed to the crime.
Dr Ahmad contacted notorious criminal Bambam in the jail and offered Rs five lakh as 'supari' to kill Irshad. Despite being in the jail, Bambam sub-contracted the job to his gang members for Rs one lakh, police said on Thursday, Aug 14.
Kailod Kanker-resident Lakhan, Alapur-resident Kamtesh alias Radhe and Balai locality-resident Praveen Pradhan were arrested in this regard. Lakhan received Rs 2,000 as token money for the murder, police added.
