Implement 6th pay commission report: Employees joint council
Lucknow, Aug 14 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh employees joint council urged Chief Minister Mayawati to immediately announce the implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission report for state government employees after the Centre implemeted it today.
Addressing a press conference here, council president S P Tiwari and general secretary R K Nigam said here that the state government should not delay the implementation of the new pay scale for the employees and there was no need for setting up a state-evel committee.
He said all employee unions would meet in Lucknow on September 6 to chalk out the strategy to pressurise the government to implement the Sixth Pay Commission report for the 1.8 million state employees at the earliest.
Mr Tiwari said the council would also put pressure on the government to accept the five-point charter of demand of the employees, which in principle had been accepted by the government.
The five demands of the state employees were leave encashment, consequential benefits after 50 per cent Dearness Allownace (DA) merger, promotion of the fourth class employees at the grade of Rs 3,050-4,590 and promoting them to third category after test in typing, making three categories in the clerk cadre and group insurance to be minimum Rs one lakh per employee.
